JoNell graduated Valedictorian from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), a regionally accredited acupuncture institution located in Houston, Texas. In addition to the required internship at the school’s clinic, she also underwent extensive training at The Methodist Hospital Wellness Department-Willowbrook, located in northwest Houston.

JoNell is a native Houstonian and is the owner of Cypress Area Acupuncture, which serves the northwest Houston area. Prior to studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, JoNell practiced as a Certified Public Accountant. She lives in the Tomball area with her husband Don who has two successful optometric practices in the area. 

With primary concentrations in chronic internal illnesses and pain management, JoNell also addresses such health concerns such as women’s health, auto-immune disorders, insomnia, cosmetic, weight loss, fertility, addiction and stress management.

JoNell is a co-founder of the Greater Houston Acupuncture Alliance and serves as Vice President and Treasurer.  She also writes a monthly column entitled What is the "Point" of Acupuncture that can be found on this website, in Natural Awakenings, and in various neighborhood news letters.
